Senior Fraud Risk Assessment | Sagewise

Fraud Risk Assessment

Are you or your loved ones protected from modern financial scams? Take our 2-minute safety audit.

1. How do you handle calls from unknown numbers?

2. Do you use the same password for multiple accounts (Banks, Email, Facebook)?

3. Do you use Two-Factor Authentication (codes sent to your phone) for banking?

4. If you got an urgent email from a "grandchild" or friend asking for money, what would you do?

5. Does a trusted family member or professional review your bank activity monthly?

The Logic Behind the Tool

  1. Risk Vector Weighting: The quiz covers the four primary ways seniors are targeted: Phone/Tech Support scams, Identity Theft (mail/documents), Social Engineering (impersonation), and Digital Hygiene (passwords/2FA).
  2. The “Safety Score”:
    • 85–100 (Fortress): High awareness, robust digital habits.
    • 60–84 (Vulnerable): Good intentions but has critical “blind spots” (e.g., uses the same password everywhere).
    • Below 60 (High Alert): High risk of immediate financial loss.
  3. Actionable Remediation: Instead of just a score, the tool generates a “Top 3 Security To-Dos” list based on where the user lost the most points.
  4. Empathy-First Design: The language is supportive and educational, not shaming, to encourage honest answers.
